The stranger

In the begining of the story the main character hads to went to Marengo, about two Kilometers from Algiers to see his death mother. He went to a bleach outside of Algiers. He hads been goes around was his friend. I think the time of the book the place is 1935 between 1938, because the book didn't says, so i guess is because at the begining of the book when the main character give off the bus there a soldier asked him is he have been traveling alone.

i think the setting could be like around WWI
I think the setting is suppose to be in the time period that the book was actually written in which should be a few years (or one) Before it was published, i mean ive never been to Africa before but im sure they have cars there and in the book it seems like taking the bus was the only way to get to his mom but i think now a days our charcter would have driven his own car..
